The heart of the day is the ride on the Olympos Teleferik, a modern cable car that climbs from a base station in the hills above Tekirova and Çamyuva to the summit of Mount Tahtalı at around 2,365 metres. The ascent takes only about ten minutes, yet the landscape changes from warm coastal pine forest to bare alpine rock, and on clear days you can sometimes see a dusting of snow at the top even in spring.

At the summit there is a broad viewing terrace and a café, where the panorama stretches along the Lycian coast from Antalya's bay toward Phaselis, Kemer and the open Mediterranean. The Beydağları range rolls away inland in layers of grey and green.

Mount Tahtalı is also known in antiquity as Olympos, the mythical mountain of the Lycian region, which is why the tour carries both names. On windy days you may watch tandem paragliders launch from the slopes below the peak.
