Patara Beach is a long, open stretch of golden sand on the Mediterranean coast near Kalkan, in the Kaş & Kalkan region. The road runs through the western Antalya coast, past Kemer and the pine-covered slopes of the Taurus mountains, then on through Kumluca and Demre before reaching the area around Kalkan and Patara. The last part winds down toward the Patara turn-off and the beach. Mountain roads and seasonal holiday traffic can add a little time, but your driver knows the route well and takes the most direct way to your address, with a stop along the way if you need one.

Part of the area is a protected nature zone and a nesting site for sea turtles, so signs may mark sections of the dunes and access can be limited at certain times. With the ancient ruins right beside the beach, it is easy to mix a swim with a little history during your visit.
