Antalya Airport (AYT) Kalkan

Antalya Airport to Kalkan Transfer

Kalkan is a hillside harbour town in the Kaş & Kalkan region of the western Mediterranean, around 210 km from Antalya Airport (AYT). Its whitewashed houses tumble down to a small marina, and it is loved for the turquoise Lycian coast, boutique stays and quiet, upmarket atmosphere.

Because Kalkan sits well beyond the main resort belt, the drive is longer than to most Antalya destinations, so a private transfer makes a real difference. A driver meets you in arrivals, helps with your luggage and takes you door to door in roughly 180 minutes, with no shared shuttle and no extra stops.

About Kalkan

Kalkan is a small town on the coast of the western Antalya province, set on a steep slope that runs down to a sheltered bay and harbour. The old centre is a maze of narrow lanes lined with restored stone houses, many now home to boutique hotels, rooftop restaurants and small shops, while a marina sits at the bottom by the water.

Visitors come to Kalkan for a calmer, more refined kind of coastal holiday. It is known for its clear, deep-blue water, its many rooftop and waterside restaurants, and as a base for boat trips along the Lycian shore. Unlike the big package resorts further east, much of the accommodation here is in villas and smaller boutique properties.

The town also works well as a gateway to the wider Kaş & Kalkan area and the ancient Lycian sites scattered along this coast, which makes a comfortable door-to-door transfer a relaxed way to start the trip after a long flight.

The Transfer Route from AYT

The drive from Antalya Airport to Kalkan covers about 210 km and takes roughly 180 minutes in normal conditions. After leaving the terminal, the route heads west, skirting Antalya and then following the main coastal road towards Kemer, Kumluca and Finike.

From there the journey continues along the western Mediterranean through Demre and Kaş, with long stretches of scenic coastline, pine-covered hills and the Taurus Mountains close to the sea. Some sections are winding as the road climbs and descends along the shore, so the final part of the drive is slower than open highway, but the views over the bays are among the finest in the region.

With a private transfer there is no shared shuttle and no waiting for other passengers. Your driver takes the most sensible route and brings you right to your villa or hotel entrance in Kalkan, so the whole trip is genuinely door to door.

Travel times can rise a little in peak summer or in heavy traffic near Antalya, so it is worth allowing a comfortable margin, especially for the return journey.

Vehicles, Prices & What's Included

We offer two main vehicle types for the Kalkan route. The economy car starts from €72 one way and suits a small group with standard luggage, while the Mercedes Vito minivan starts from €94 one way and is the better choice for larger families or groups travelling with more bags.

Every price is per vehicle, not per person, and it is fixed in advance, so the figure you are quoted is the figure you pay regardless of traffic or the time of day. There is no prepayment required: you simply pay the driver at the end of the trip, in cash or by card.

The price already includes a free meet and greet with a name sign in the arrivals hall, flight tracking so we adjust to your real landing time, and free child seats when you request them. With one clear per-vehicle price for the whole journey, there are no surprises waiting for you at the kerb after a long flight.

Practical Tips

When you book, let us know how many travellers and how many suitcases you have so we can send the right vehicle; on a long drive like this the Vito is the more comfortable choice if you are carrying a lot of luggage, sports equipment or a pushchair. Tell us in advance if you need child seats and how many, as these are provided free of charge.

Return transfers from Kalkan back to the airport are easy to arrange at the same time as your arrival booking. Because the drive is around three hours, leave with a generous buffer for your flight home and allow extra time during the busy summer months.

Kalkan is a good base for the wider Kaş & Kalkan area: Kaş is a short drive west, the famous Kaputaş Beach lies between the two towns, and the Lycian coast offers boat trips and ancient sites nearby. Keep your flight number handy when booking so our flight tracking can match your transfer to any schedule change.

Kalkan's Coast and Kaputaş Beach

Much of Kalkan's appeal is the water itself. The bay in front of the town is deep and clear, and many hotels and beach clubs offer platforms and sunbathing terraces right at the sea, since there is little natural sand in the town centre. Swimming, paddleboarding and short boat trips are all part of a typical day here.

The best-known beach in the area is Kaputaş, a small cove of pale sand and bright turquoise water set at the foot of a gorge on the road between Kalkan and Kaş. It is reached by a long flight of steps down from the coastal road and is busiest in the summer months, so an early visit is more relaxed.

The season runs broadly from late spring to early autumn, when the sea is warm and the skies are reliably clear. Bring sun protection, water shoes for the pebbles at some spots, and a little cash for the beach clubs, and arriving rested after a smooth transfer means more energy to enjoy the coast.
