About Side
Side is a coastal town in the eastern part of the Antalya province, set on a small peninsula where the ancient Greco-Roman city once stood. Today the old town centre is woven right through the ruins, so you can stroll past a Roman theatre, colonnaded streets and the famous Temple of Apollo on your way to a café or the beach.
Visitors come for this rare mix of history and seaside holiday. Long sandy beaches stretch to the east and west of the centre, the harbour fills with restaurants and small boats, and the surrounding Belek & Side region is lined with resort hotels of every size.
Because it offers ruins, beaches, shopping streets and a wide choice of accommodation in one place, Side suits families, couples and history lovers alike, which is exactly why a direct transfer from the airport makes the start of the trip so easy.
The Transfer Route from AYT
The drive from Antalya Airport to Side covers about 65 km and takes roughly 60 minutes in normal traffic. After leaving the terminal, the route joins the main eastbound highway towards Serik and Manavgat, a well-maintained dual carriageway that carries most of the coastal traffic.
The journey runs through the green Belek & Side plain, with citrus groves and pine on either side and the Taurus Mountains rising inland to the north. Closer to Side the road branches off the highway towards the coast and your specific resort or hotel address.
With a private transfer there is no shared shuttle and no extra stops. Your driver takes the most direct sensible route and brings you right to the entrance of your hotel or apartment, so the whole experience is genuinely door to door.
Travel times can rise a little during peak summer afternoons or busy arrival periods, but on the open highway the ride to Side stays comfortable and predictable in almost all conditions.
Vehicles, Prices & What's Included
We offer two main vehicle types for the Side route. The economy car starts from €29 one way and comfortably carries a small group with standard luggage, while the Mercedes Vito minivan starts from €38 one way and suits larger families or groups travelling with more bags.
Every price is per vehicle, not per person, and it is fixed in advance, so the figure you are quoted is the figure you pay regardless of traffic or the time of day. There is no prepayment required: you simply pay the driver at the end of the trip, in cash or by card.
The price already includes a free meet and greet with a name sign in the arrivals hall, flight tracking so we adjust to your real landing time, and free child seats when you request them. With one clear per-vehicle price there are no surprises waiting for you at the kerb.
Practical Tips
When you book, let us know how many travellers and how many suitcases you have so we can send the right vehicle; the Vito is the safer choice if you are carrying a lot of luggage, sports equipment or a pushchair. Tell us in advance if you need child seats and how many, as these are provided free of charge.
Return transfers from Side back to the airport are easy to arrange at the same time as your arrival booking. For the trip home, leave with a comfortable buffer and allow for the roughly hour-long drive plus extra time during the busy summer months.
Side is a handy base for the wider region: Manavgat and its waterfall are just inland, and resort areas such as Belek, Kumköy and Titreyengöl are all nearby. Keep your flight number handy when booking so our flight tracking can match your transfer to any schedule change.
The Ancient City of Side
Side has a long history as a harbour settlement, founded in antiquity and later flourishing as a Greco-Roman port. Its name is often linked to an old word for pomegranate, and over the centuries it grew into a wealthy trading city before declining in the early medieval period.
Much of that past is still visible today. The large Roman theatre, the colonnaded main street, the ancient city gate and the seafront Temple of Apollo, whose columns frame Mediterranean sunsets, are the best-known landmarks, alongside a museum housed in restored Roman baths.
The ruins are spread through and around the old town, so you can explore much of the site on foot at your own pace, fitting it around beach time and meals. It is an easy, family-friendly place to wander, and arriving rested after a smooth door-to-door transfer means you have more energy to enjoy it.
