About Cleopatra Beach
Cleopatra Beach (Kleopatra Plajı) is the long sandy bay that runs along the western side of the rocky headland in central Alanya, beneath the Seljuk castle. Its name comes from the legend that the surrounding region was once gifted to Cleopatra by Mark Antony, and that the Egyptian queen swam in these waters.
The beach is known for its soft, light-coloured sand and clean, gently shallow sea, which makes it popular with families as well as swimmers and sunbathers. Sunbeds and parasols are widely available along the front, and cafes, shops and restaurants line the promenade just behind.
Because it sits right next to Alanya's old town, the harbour and the cable car up to the castle, Cleopatra Beach is an easy base for combining beach days with sightseeing. Many visitors come simply to enjoy the wide bay, the mountain backdrop and the long, walkable shoreline.
The Transfer Route from AYT
The drive from Antalya Airport to Cleopatra Beach covers about 130 km and takes roughly 95 minutes in normal traffic. After leaving the terminal, the route joins the coastal highway heading east towards Serik, Manavgat and on to Alanya, a well-maintained dual carriageway that carries most of the region's traffic.
Much of the journey runs close to the Mediterranean, with the Taurus Mountains rising inland to the north and stretches of pine forest, banana plantations and sea views along the way. As you approach Alanya the castle headland comes into view, and the road leads towards the city centre and the beachfront.
With a private transfer there is no shared shuttle and no extra stops. Your driver takes the most direct route to the entrance of your accommodation near Cleopatra Beach, so the experience is genuinely door to door.
Travel times can rise a little during peak summer afternoons, but on the open highway the ride stays comfortable and predictable.
Vehicles, Prices & What's Included
We offer two main vehicle types for the Cleopatra Beach route. The economy car starts from €48 one way and comfortably carries a small group with standard luggage, while the Mercedes Vito minivan starts from €62 one way and suits larger families or groups travelling with more bags.
Every price is per vehicle, not per person, and it is fixed in advance, so the figure you are quoted is the figure you pay regardless of traffic or the time of day. There is no prepayment required: you simply pay the driver at the end of the trip, in cash or by card.
The price already includes a free meet and greet with a name sign in the arrivals hall, flight tracking so we adjust to your real landing time, and free child seats when you request them. With one clear per-vehicle price there are no surprises waiting for you at the kerb.
Practical Tips
There is no strict limit on ordinary luggage, but if you are travelling with large suitcases, golf bags, prams or extra gear, choosing the Vito minivan keeps the ride comfortable. Let us know your group size and bags when you book and we will match you to the right vehicle.
Return transfers from Cleopatra Beach back to Antalya Airport are easy to arrange at the same time as your arrival booking. We collect you from your address and allow plenty of time for check-in, which is helpful given the 130 km distance.
The beach is busiest in high summer, from June to September, when the sea is warm and the days are long. Spring and early autumn are quieter and still pleasant. Whenever you arrive, the city centre, harbour and old town of Alanya are all within easy reach of the beachfront.
The Beach Itself: Season & What to Bring
The swimming season at Cleopatra Beach typically runs from late spring through autumn, with the warmest sea and sunniest days falling in July and August. The fine sand and gradually deepening water suit children and less confident swimmers, while the open bay gives plenty of room even on busy days.
It is worth bringing sun protection, a hat and water, as shade is limited unless you rent a parasol. Sunbeds, parasols and beach cafes are available along the front, so you can travel light if you prefer. Swimming shoes are handy in places, though much of the bay is comfortably sandy underfoot.
The long promenade behind the beach makes it easy to walk to restaurants, shops and the harbour, and to combine a swim with a visit to Alanya Castle or a boat trip along the coast.
