10 Tips for a Smooth Antalya Airport Transfer: First-Timer's Guide

The single most effective thing you can do is arrange your airport transfer before you leave home. Trying to organise transport after landing — tired, jetlagged and surrounded by competing offers from strangers — is unnecessary pressure.

Contact us via WhatsApp with your flight number, arrival date, number of passengers, number of bags and your hotel address. We confirm the fixed price immediately and you receive a booking confirmation with the driver's name and contact number. Everything is arranged; you simply walk through arrivals and your driver is waiting.

For July and August in particular, book as early as possible. High season demand means drivers fill up quickly. A booking made months in advance takes only five minutes and removes all uncertainty from the first part of your trip.

Before you land, find the full address of your hotel or accommodation in Turkish and save it on your phone — ideally both the Latin-script Turkish spelling and copied into a note you can show a driver if needed.

Antalya has many similarly named hotels, especially in areas like Lara, Konyaalti and Belek where large resort complexes cluster close together. Knowing not just the hotel name but the full street address eliminates any ambiguity.

If you have pre-booked your transfer with us, we already have your destination in the system and the driver is briefed. But having the address to hand is still useful — it helps at immigration if asked, and means you can verify the driver is taking you to the correct place.

When you receive your booking confirmation, save the driver's phone number to your contacts immediately. Before boarding the plane, double-check you have this number accessible even without mobile data (saved in contacts rather than only in a message thread that requires internet).

If you exit customs and cannot immediately see your driver in the arrivals hall, a quick WhatsApp message or call resolves the situation in seconds. Drivers sometimes step aside briefly because of the crowds, or your name board may not be immediately visible through the press of people.

Having the number to hand avoids the stress of searching a crowded terminal. Our drivers are always close by and respond immediately — but you need to be able to reach them without hunting through your email for a confirmation number.

When you book, always provide your flight number rather than just your departure time. A flight number (such as TK7840 or FR1234) allows us to track your aircraft in real time through its entire journey.

This matters because delays happen, especially in summer. If your flight from London, Berlin or Warsaw is delayed by 90 minutes, your driver knows before you do and adjusts his schedule accordingly. He will be in the arrivals hall when you land, not 90 minutes before you land.

With a flight number we can also anticipate the gate, estimated baggage delivery time and any on-arrival changes. Without it, we would need a phone call from you to confirm your updated arrival time, which adds friction when you most want things to be seamless.

At Antalya Airport's international terminal, arriving passengers exit through the customs and arrivals hall into a large public area. Your driver will be standing just beyond the exit doors, on the right-hand side of the hall, holding a board clearly showing your name.

If you are arriving on a domestic flight, the meeting point is slightly different — confirm this at booking.

Do not stop at the taxi desks or accept unsolicited offers from individuals in the arrivals hall. Walk straight through to the exit and look for your name board. If after one or two minutes you do not see the board, call the driver's number immediately — he will be within moments of you.

If you are travelling with children, declare the ages of your children when you book. We provide child seats and booster seats appropriate to each child's age and weight at no extra charge — but we need to know in advance so the driver can fit the correct seat before collecting you.

Child safety laws in Turkey require appropriate restraints for children, and driving from the airport to your hotel without one puts both your child and the driver in a difficult position. Fitting a seat at the airport takes only a few minutes but must be arranged in advance.

Baby pushchairs and prams fit in the boot of our standard vehicles without being dismantled. If you have an exceptionally large pushchair or multiple large bags alongside children, mention this at booking so we can ensure the right vehicle size is allocated.

The transfer from the airport to your hotel is the most luggage-intensive part of your trip. A few small preparations make it much smoother.

Keep your booking confirmation, hotel address and driver's number accessible — not buried in your checked bag. Have a light jacket or cardigan to hand if you arrive at night, as even summer nights on the Antalya coast can be cool after the air-conditioned terminal.

If you have items that must not go in the boot — medication, a camera, a child's comfort toy — keep them in a small bag that rides in the cabin with you. Let the driver know when he loads the main bags so he does not accidentally put everything in the boot.

Small change in euros or lira is useful to have available, though our price is fixed and paid in full at the end — no tipping is expected or required.

We do not ask for a deposit or any advance payment when you book. Payment is made directly to your driver at the end of the journey — when you arrive at your hotel, in cash or by card.

This means you take zero financial risk when booking. If your trip is cancelled or your dates change, simply let us know as early as possible and there is nothing to refund.

Prepare the correct amount (the fixed price we quoted) in either euros or Turkish lira before you land. While drivers can make change, having the exact amount makes the handover at your hotel door quick and easy, especially at the end of a long travel day.

Receipts are available on request. If you need one for expenses or travel documentation, ask the driver at the time of payment.

Antalya Airport immigration can take between 10 and 45 minutes depending on flight volume and time of day. In peak July and August, when multiple wide-body charter flights land in quick succession, the queues at passport control can be substantial.

Baggage delivery at AYT varies by flight but is typically 20 to 35 minutes after landing. Do not be alarmed if the belts are slow — this is normal, especially in busy periods.

Because we track your flight, your driver's schedule is already based on your landing time, not your scheduled arrival. But even after landing, your driver will wait for as long as it takes you to clear passport control and collect your bags. There is no rush — take your time at customs, there is no extra charge for waiting.

If you need a transfer back to Antalya Airport at the end of your holiday, book it at the same time as your outbound transfer or at least 24 hours before your departure.

For the return, we need your hotel pick-up address, your departure flight number and the time you would like to be collected. We advise arriving at the airport at least 2.5 hours before international flights and 2 hours before domestic departures, especially in the summer season.

On the morning of your departure, our driver will be at your hotel at the agreed time — no waiting, no uncertainty. If something changes (a cancelled or rescheduled flight), contact us via WhatsApp as soon as possible and we will adjust or cancel at no cost with adequate notice.
