Antalya All-Inclusive Holiday Guide: Resorts, Areas and Tips

All-inclusive (often shown as "AI") usually covers your accommodation, buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner, snacks, and local-brand alcoholic and soft drinks during set hours. Most hotels include pools, sun loungers, beach access, kids' clubs and daytime entertainment in the price.

The upgrade is "ultra all-inclusive," which typically adds imported spirits, à la carte restaurants, minibar refills, premium snacks and sometimes a few spa or sports extras. Always check the specific list, because "all-inclusive" is not a fixed standard.

Things usually charged separately include the spa, motorised water sports, some imported drinks, safe rental and excursions. Reading the hotel's own "concept" sheet before you travel saves confusion at the bar and the dinner reservation desk.

Belek sits about 30-40 km east of Antalya Airport and is the coast's upmarket address. It is famous for championship golf courses, large landscaped resorts and pine forest right behind the sand. Beaches here are mostly fine sand, which suits families with small children.

The trade-off is that Belek is purpose-built and quiet; there is no old town to wander, so most guests stay on the resort. That is exactly what many luxury and golf travellers want. Day trips to the ancient sites of Perge and Aspendos are close, and the Roman theatre at Aspendos still hosts events. If you value comfort and space over nightlife, Belek is a strong pick.

Side, around 60-75 km east of the airport, wraps a charming ancient town around a peninsula, with Roman ruins, a seafront Temple of Apollo and long sandy beaches on both sides. You get genuine sightseeing on foot plus a wide range of mid-range and upscale all-inclusive resorts nearby in Kumköy and Çolaklı.

Lara is different: it is effectively Antalya's own resort strip, only about 10-15 km from the airport and close to the city. It is known for grand themed five-star hotels and a long sandy beach. Being near the centre, you can easily visit Antalya's old town (Kaleiçi), the Antalya Museum and the Düden Waterfalls, then return to your resort the same evening.

Kemer lies west of Antalya, roughly 45-55 km from the airport, where the Taurus Mountains drop straight to the sea. Beaches are often pebble rather than sand, the water is famously clear, and the scenery is dramatic. Resort towns like Göynük, Beldibi and Çamyuva offer a mix of family hotels and a more relaxed feel.

Alanya is far to the east, about 120-135 km from the airport, so transfers take longer. In return you get sandy beaches, a landmark medieval castle, the Red Tower and lively, budget-friendly nightlife. Because the drive is long, many Alanya visitors pre-book a private transfer or check whether their tour operator includes a coach, since regular public transport from the airport is limited.

Antalya Airport (AYT) has two international terminals and one domestic terminal, and it is the gateway for almost all coastal resorts. Your options are a private transfer, a shuttle through your tour operator, the HAVAŞ/airport bus into the city, or a taxi.

For door-to-door comfort, especially with luggage, children or a late-night flight, a pre-booked private airport transfer is the simplest choice. You get a fixed price per vehicle agreed in advance, free meet and greet at arrivals, flight tracking so the driver waits if you are delayed, payment direct to the driver, and 24/7 WhatsApp booking. As a rough guide, private transfers to the nearest areas like Lara start from around €15, rising with distance for Belek, Side, Kemer and especially Alanya.

Public buses are cheaper but involve changes and walking, which is awkward after a long flight, so weigh time against cost.

Antalya has hot, dry summers and mild winters. Peak season runs June to early September with reliable sun and sea temperatures that stay warm into October. May and late September to October are ideal shoulder months: pleasant heat, lower prices and quieter beaches. Winter is mild but many seaside resorts reduce services.

A few practical pointers. The Turkish lira fluctuates, so cards are widely accepted at resorts; carry some cash for markets, tips and taxis. Tap water is best avoided for drinking. Pack reef-safe sunscreen and water shoes if you choose a pebble beach like Kemer.

Finally, book popular à la carte restaurants and any excursions early in your stay, as slots fill fast in high season.
