Antalya Golf Guide: Belek's Championship Courses & Resorts

Belek concentrates more quality golf into a few kilometres than almost anywhere in Europe. Around 15 courses sit within minutes of one another, three of them DP World Tour hosts: Montgomerie Maxx Royal, Regnum Carya and Antalya Golf Club's PGA Sultan. The fairways are carved through fragrant umbrella pines on sandy, free-draining soil, so conditions stay playable year-round. Belek's three big advantages over rival destinations are course quality, value and a long season. Most courses are attached to five-star resorts, so you can walk or take a buggy from your room to the first tee. With several layouts clustered together, serious golfers can play a different championship course every day of a week's stay.

Antalya Golf Club's PGA Sultan, an 18-hole par-72 around 6,477 metres, is Belek's most celebrated test and routinely rated among Turkey's best; its calmer sister, The Pasha, suits higher handicaps. Montgomerie Maxx Royal, designed by Ryder Cup legend Colin Montgomerie, threads through pine and pure sand. Regnum Carya stretches over 7,000 yards and famously offers floodlit night golf, letting you play in the cool of a summer evening. Other standouts include Cornelia's Nick Faldo course, the lengthy National, Gloria's 45 holes, Kaya Palazzo, Sueno's Pines and Dunes, and Lykia Links, a rare true links running through dunes with Mediterranean views. Belek's strength is the all-in-one golf resort. Five-star properties such as Maxx Royal, Regnum Carya, Cornelia, Gloria, Kaya Palazzo, Sueno and Robinson combine their own championship course with all-inclusive dining, spas, kids' clubs and long sandy beaches. Many sell stay-and-play packages bundling rooms, green fees, buggies and shared tee times across several clubs, often cheaper than booking separately. If you are not staying on a golf resort, you can still play almost any course as a visitor by reserving a green fee in advance. Confirm exactly what your package includes, dress codes, buggy hire and whether club rental is available, especially if you are flying without your own bag.

Belek is a year-round destination, but the prime windows are spring and autumn. October–November and March–May offer warm, dry days around 18–25°C, firm fairways and the busiest, liveliest atmosphere, so book early. Winter, from December to February, is the cheapest time and often still mild, but carries a real risk of rain, with December and January the wettest months; pack waterproofs and expect the odd washed-out round. High summer, July and August, is very hot, often above 35°C, so play early morning or take advantage of Carya's floodlit night golf. For the best mix of weather, value and course condition, target April–May or October–November.

Belek is ideal for mixing golf with a classic Mediterranean break, which makes it easy to please non-golfing partners and families. The resorts back onto long Blue Flag beaches, so a morning round can be followed by an afternoon by the sea or at the spa. Beyond the fairways, the area is close to the ancient theatre at Aspendos, the waterfalls and Roman ruins of Side, and rafting in the Köprülü Canyon, all good rest-day excursions. Antalya's old town, Kaleiçi, and its big malls are a short drive west. Most Belek golf resorts sit 30–45 minutes from Antalya Airport (AYT) along the smooth D400 coastal road, so transfers top and tail every golf trip.
