Tazı Canyon, known in English as Greyhound Canyon, sits high in the Taurus foothills behind Belek and Side, within Köprülü Kanyon National Park. Its name comes from the slender, tapering rock formations that locals likened to a greyhound's shape. The big draw is the viewpoint: a dramatic platform on the cliff edge where the land drops away vertically to the Köprüçay River roughly 400 metres below.

From the rim you take in a vast panorama of pine forest, weathered limestone walls and the turquoise river threading through the gorge. A famous rocky ledge nicknamed Adam Asacak ("the place where a man could be hanged") juts out over the void and is the spot every visitor wants to photograph.

Nearby lie the ruins of the ancient city of Selge, with its hillside Roman theatre, and the old stone Roman bridges that span the canyon. Because the day is private, your driver can combine these sights into one relaxed loop.

Because this is a private tour, the day is built around you. After morning hotel pickup, you head inland from the coast, leaving the resorts behind as the road climbs gently through pine country and follows the Köprüçay valley up toward the national park.

Tazı Canyon is a viewpoint day rather than a strenuous trek, so it suits most ages and fitness levels, including families with children. Bring sturdy, closed shoes for the rocky ground, sunscreen and a hat, plenty of water, and a camera or phone with space for plenty of photos. Even in summer the mountain plateau can feel cooler and breezier than the coast, so a light layer is useful, and spring and autumn bring especially clear, comfortable air.
